Question 416592: 6^3m*6^-m=6^-2m
tried 3m*-m=-2m
3m+2m=-m
but I think maybe 3m-2m-1m= 0 but not sure how; please show

Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Since the bases are all the same, you can add the exponents on the left side to get: 3m+(-m) = 3m-m = 2m

Now you can equate exponents (again, they're all the same) to get: 2m = -2m

Now solve for m to get: 2m+2m = 0 ----> 4m=0 ---> m = 0

So the solution is m = 0
