Question 37298: 8 ln (x+9) - 4 ln x
Write each expression as a single logarithm with a coefficient of one. Where possible evaluate the logarithmic expressions.
hmmmm.....i must have been out that day and maybe the page was ripped away...I can't figure this out.

From 8 ln (x+9) - 4 ln x, we use the power rule for logs first, yielding
ln [(x + 9)^8] - ln (x^4)
Now use the division rule and get
ln [(x + 9)^8 / (x^4)]
