In words: Log eighty one plus two log four divided by log four minus log 3.
I have to find the decimal approximation to the nearest thousandth.

To find an approximate value of log4, use the formula log^ng81=(ln(g81))/(ln(n)).
g81lo+((2ln(4))/(ln(10)))-log(3)
Find the value of each expression using a calculator.
g81lo+(20.60206)-log(3)
To find an approximate value of log(3), use the formula log^ng81=(ln(g81))/(ln(n)).
g81lo+(20.60206)+(-(ln(3))/(ln(10)))
Find the value of each expression using a calculator.
g81lo+(20.60206)+(-0.4771213)
Remove the parentheses that are not needed from the expression.
g81lo+20.60206-0.4771213
Subtract 0.4771213 from 20.60206 to get 20.12494.
g81lo+20.12494
