5*(4q+4)=3q*8
20q+20=24q

This is a proportion (one fraction equals another). So we can use cross-multiplying to solve:
5*(4q+4) = 8*3q
Simplifying we get:
20q + 20 = 24q
Get the variable on just one side (by subtracting 20q from each side:
20 = 4q
Divide both sides by 4:
5 = q
P.S. Please put multiple term numerators and denominators, like 4q+4, in parentheses! It makes the problem clearer and tutors are more likely to answer questions if they are clearly posted.
