Question 334755: If f(x)=x²+3, and g(x)=x-1 then f(g(x)) is?
Answer by nyc_function(2741)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Take the value of g(x) and plug it into every x that you see for f(x).
For f(x) = x^2 + 3, let x = (x - 1) and do the math.
f(x - 1) = (x - 1)^2 + 3
f(x - 1) = (x - 1)(x - 1) + 3
f(x - 1) = x^2 - 2x + 1 + 3
f(x - 1) = x^2 - 2x + 4
So, f(g(x)) = x^2 - 2x + 4
