SOLUTION: solve the quadratic equation
x^2+2x-4=0
I get 1 & -3 however, when i plug them into the equation i get -1 for both solutions. Is there no solution to this equation?

x^2+2x-4=0
find the roots of the equation x1 , x2
x1 = -2 + sqrt ((2^2 - (-16)) /2
= -2 + sqrt20 /2
=1.23
.
x2=-2 -sqrt ((2^2 - (-16)) /2
= -3.23
