Whichever of the two expressions you problem is, just get out your calculator. You will need the exponentiation ("raise to a power") key for the exponent of -3. This key often looks like "^" or . And you will need the logarithm, "log", key. If your calculator has keys for parentheses then you can pretty much type in what you see. If not,- For the first expression:
- Divide 5 by 3
- Use the exponentiation key to raise the result from step 1 to the -3 power
- Use the "log" key to find the (base 10) logarithm of the result from step 2.
- For the second expression:
- Divide 5 by 3
- Use the "log" key to find the (base 10) logarithm of the result from step 1.
- Use the exponentiation key to raise the result from step 2 to the -3 power
