Question 281175: whats the answer to log(x-1)+(x-1)=log8 5
Answer by jsmallt9(3758)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Is the left side really
log(x-1)+(x-1)
or is it
log(x-1)+log(x-1)?
I ask because the first expression is much more difficult to solve than the second. Most logarithm problems posted here are like the second expression.

What is log8 5?
log(8)*5
log(85)
?
If the last one is correct, then try using English to describe it, For example:
"base 8 logarithm of 5"
