Question 274326: How do you work out the problem: logbase10(3m-5)+logbase10m=logbase102
Answer by edjones(8007) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
logbase10(3m-5)+logbase10(m)=logbase10(2)
10^logbase10(3m-5)*10^logbase10(m)=10^logbase10(2)
m(3m-5)=2
3m^2-5m-2=0
3m^2-6m+m-2=0
3m(m-2)+1(m-2)=0
(3m+1)(m-2)=0
m=2 the only answer
