Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Inx+In(2x+1)=0
plese explain how to do this in detail
-----------------
Since ln(a) + ln(b) = ln(ab) you get:
ln(x)+ln(2x+1) = 0
---
ln(x(2x+1)) = 0
ln(2x^2+x) = 0
---
The base is "e" ; the exponent is zero ; the result is 2x^2 + x
----
2x^2+x = e^0 = 1
2x^2+x -1 = 0
---
(2x-1)(x+1) = 0
x = 1/2 or x = -1
----
But x cannot be negative in the original equation.
So you get:
x = 1/2 is the only solution.
