e is just a number, like would be. It is no different.

the reason we call it e is because the number goes on for ever, so we cannot write it... where would you stop? As soon as you stopped writing, that becomes an approximation to the proper number.

Anyway, your calculator (if any good) will have a log button with on it and also a ln button with on it. You need the ln button --> as you say, the natural log button.

e is 2.71828... ie is just under 3.

so would be which is 1/729 which is 0.0013717...

So should be a tad more than that. Use your calc to give 0.00247875...
