Question 180440: True or false: the function "f(x) =4" grows four times faster than the function "g(x) = x. explain
Answer by Mathtut(3670) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
that would mean for every input into f(x) and g(x ) the output result would be 3 times greater for g(x)
:
so lets plug in some numbers
:
for x=3---->f(x)=4,g(x)=3
for x=0---->f(x)=4,g(x)=0
for x=-3--->f(x)=4,g(x)=-3
:
with these values you would have to conclude the statement is false.
:
by the way f(x)=4 is a horizontal line
and g(x) is a line that splits the x and y axis in the 1st and 3rd quadrants.
:
here ya go the graph of y=(1/3)^x
