300^(2x+5) = 1
(2x+5)*log 300 = 0
2x+5 = 0
x = -5/2
---------------------------
(b)

2^(x+2)* 5^(6-x) = 1000
-----
Take the log of both sides to get:
(x+2)*log2 + (6-x)*log5 = 3
-------------------------------------
[log(2)-log(5)]x + 2log(2) + 6log(5) = 3
----------------------------------
[log(2/5)]x = 3-log4+log5^6
-0.3979x = 6.5918
x = -16.56..
