i have attempted this problem and i have got it down to (1/3)^x = 27^9
but i am not sure if i am doing this correctly.

Try to get both sides expressed as a power of 3.
3^-x = 3^5
Since the bases are the same the exponents must be equal.
-x = 5
x = -5
