Question 131316: I've been multiplying polynomials however, the solution that I come up with for the product of these three, doesnt match the answer I was given. Could you please rectify my solution. Thank you.
(2y+1)(y+z)(3y-1)=(2y^2+2yz+y+z)(3y-1)
=6y^3+6y^2z+3y^2+3yz-2y^2-2yz-y-z
=6y^3+6y^2z+y^2+yz-y-z
The solution I was given was 6y^3+13y^2+y-z, which is correct?

Question 143384: The problem is x(x+1)squared(x+2)=0; 0, -1, 2.
Sorry I dont know how to make an exponent on the computer. I am supposed to use the 0, -1, and 2. to determine by substitution which of the given numbers, if any satisfy the equation. So far I have getting that -1 and 0 work! I have a question about my work though. Am I supposed to distribute the x first or foil first? Thanks so much for your time! Tarah
