Question 123536This question is from textbook Elementary and intermediate Algebra
: Skydiving. If there were no air resistance, then the height (in feet) above the earth for a skydiver t seconds after jumping from an airplane at 10,000 feet would be given by h(t)= -16t^2 + 10,000
a) find the time that it would take to fall to earth with no air resistance: that is, find t for which (t)= 0.A skydiveractually gets about twice as much free fall time due to air resistance.
b)Use the accompanying graph to determine whether the skydiver(with no air resistance ) falls farther in the first 5 seconds or the last 5 seconds of the fall.
c) Is the skydiver's velocity increasing or decreasing as she falls?This question is from textbook Elementary and intermediate Algebra

Question 123601This question is from textbook
: I have been trying to figure out the answer for 6(5g + 2) = 30g
I used the distributive property and i came up with 30g + 12 = 30g
then i think you are supposed to subtract 30g from each side which would be 12=30g
and that is as far as i know i tried dividing 12 into 30g but im not sure if that is the right thing to do.
Please help me with this problem
thank youThis question is from textbook

Question 127444: Hello.
This is my first time using this site. I hope I've submitted this question correctly. My problem is:
The hypotenuse of a right triangle is 28 inches longer than the shortest side, and 14 inches longer than the remaining. Find the dimensions of the triangle.
I tried this so far:
the hypotenuse(a) is x
the shortest side(b) is x-28
the remaining side(c) is x-14
P=a+b+c
P= x+(x-28)+(x-14)
3x-28-14
3x-42
x=14
i don't think i'm onm the right track at all... can you help?
thank you in advance...
