Question 542377: How do I solve this equation? -3=12y-5(2y-7)
I tried to solve it. But my teacher said i got it wrong.
Here is how I tried to worked it out.
-3=12y-5(2y-7) Original problem
-3=12y-10y-35 Multiplied 2y and 7 by 5
32=12y-10y Added 35 to both sides
32=2y Combined like terms
16=y Divided both sides by 2
So what did I do wrong?
