Our issues lie in the 1/2 in the numerator we have tried to isolate the z and just getting stumped any advice or guidance on this step apprecciated

Cross-multiply to get:
2(3z-1) = (1/2)(4z+4)

6z-2 = 2z+2

Subtract 2z from both sides:
Add 2 to both sides::

4z = 4
z = 1

You need to use parentheses

I presume this is the equation: , with , and . If it is, then:

 --------- Cross-multiplying

12z - 4 = 4z + 4

12z - 4z = 4 + 4

8z = 8
