Question 83114: 10-(x-2)=15
Answer by adamchapman(301) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
10-(x-2)=15
subtracting "what is in ther brackets" is the same as "adding everthing in the brackets multiplied by -1"
10+(-x--2)=15
the double negative in front of the 2 makes a positive
10+(-x+2)=15
now we can get rid of the brakets
10-x+2=15
now we need to do is add/subrtact until we get only x on one side of the equals sign:
10-x=13
-x=3
so x=-3
I hope this helps,
Adam
