Question 699454: what property is 5 * (1/5) = 1
Answer by neatmath(302) (Show Source):
You can put this solution on YOUR website! This property should be:
the Multiplicative Inverse Property
Basically, given any number, there is another number that
when you multiply both numbers together, you always get 1.
Similarly, the Additive Inverse Property says,
given any number, there is another number that
when you add both numbers together you always get 0.
With both of these properties, you can think of the inverse of a number
as the "opposite" of a number.
I hope this helps! Keep practicing! :)
