Question 664307: 3x - 5(x+2)
Answer by ReadingBoosters(3246)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Starting with
3x - 5(x+2)
Distribute the 5
3x - 5x + 10
Combine like terms
-2x+10
If you meant this to be an equation (it needs to be set equal to something)
3x-5(x+2)=0 then,
-2x + 10 = 0
Subtract 10 from both sides
-2x = -10
Divide both sides by -2
x = 5
...
If this was a simplification problem then -2x+10 is the answer
If this was a solve for x equation then x=5
