Question 47050: 2y(y+4)=-5(y+3)
I need to solve this one but unsure where to begin.

Answer by Nate(3500)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
2y(y + 4) = -5(y + 3)
2y^2 + 8y = -5y - 15
2y^2 + 13y + 15 = 0
2y^2 + 3y + 10y + 15 = 0
(2y^2 + 3y) + (10y + 15) = 0
y(2y + 3) + 5(2y + 3) = 0
(y + 5)(2y + 3) = 0
y + 5 = 0
y = -5
and
2y = -3
y = -3/2
