Question 364528: i need help with math with distrbutive property and how to silplify the equations 11-(d-2)+(-6)?
Answer by solver91311(24713) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
The first thing you need to do is stop calling something that doesn't have an equals sign in it an equation. You have an expression.
When you have a minus sign in front of a set of parentheses, treat it as if it were a (-1). Then multiply the -1 times each of the terms inside of the parentheses.
Minus one times d is -d and minus one times minus 2 is plus 2, so:
11 plus 2 is 13. Then 13 minus 6 is 7, so:
John

My calculator said it, I believe it, that settles it
