Question 22484: if the height of a rectangle is 15 inches and the area is 240 squar inches what is the lenth and base of the rectangle

Area of a rectangle is Length times Width. In this case, perhaps you could call it Base times Height.
A = B*H
240 = B*15
In order to solve for B, you must divide both sides by 15:
Base = 16 inches.
