use the commutative and associative properties to write three equivalent expressions or 3(ab)
Step 1. 3(ab)=3(ba) where the commutative property was used.
Step 2. 3(ab)=(3a)b where the associative property was used.
Step 3. 3(ab)=(a3)b where the commutative property was used after using the associative property used in Step 2.
