.
Working inside the [], distribute the 2 to each term inside the ():
(-4)[x-4x+6]+1 = 2x-3
Combining like-terms inside []:
(-4)[-3x+6]+1 = 2x-3
.
Next, distribute the -4 to terms inside the []:
12x-24+1 = 2x-3
12x-23 = 2x-3
.
Subtracting 2x from both sides:
10x-23 = -3
.
Adding 23 to both sides:
10x = 20
.
Finally, dividing both sides by 10:
x = 2
