This is what work I have done. Am I on track?
-2xX =-2x
-2x6=-12
12+7=19
35-19=16

Distribute -2 to the binomial
-2x+12+7=35
Combine 12 and 7
-2x+19=35
Transpose 19 to the right side of the equation
-2x=16
x=-8
