Question 113292: I was wondering if you could help me factor this problem: x^18-y^18. I do realize that this is a difference of two squares as well as a difference of two cubes, but somewhere along the lines I have confused myself. This question isn't from a book, but off the top of the teachers head. Please help.
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x^18-y^18
=(x^9+y^9)(x^9-y^9)
------------
OR
---------------
x^18-y^18 = (x^6-y^6)(x^12-x^6y^6+y^12)
----------------
