Answer by Boreal(15235) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
3(5x+6)+5x+ 11 = 8x+53
15x+18+5x+11=8x+53
20x+29=8x+53
12x=24, after subtracting 29 from both sides
x=2
Check
3(16)+10+11, or 69, equals 16+53 or 69.

Hi There,
So lets start by distributing the 3 across the (5x+6) giving us 15x + 18.
Now we have 15x+18+5x+11=8x+53,
Next we should combine like terms on each side of the equation which will give us 20x+29=8x+53.
Now we should subtract the 8x from the right side, and the 29 from the left side we are left with 12x=24.
Then we should divide by 12 to get x by itself, which leaves us with x=2.
Now we can plug 2 back into the original equation for x.
This gives us 3(5(2)+6)+5(2)+11=8(2)+53.
We then can simplify down to 3(10+6)+10+11=16+53.
Then continue PEMDAS, to get 3(16)+21=69.
Then Multiply 3 and 16 to get 48+21+69
Finally it checks 69=69. Hope This helps!
