A rectangular garden has dimensions of 18 feet by 13 feet. A gravel path of uniform width is to be built around the garden. How wide can the path be if there is enough gravel for 516 square feet?

Question 153871: I'm in geometry now but my teacher wants to refresh our memory in algebra 1. here is the question:
"Find the coordinates of three points that lie on the graph of each equation. Graph the points and the line representing the equation. Then name the coordinates of one point not on the line."
The equation is y=x+5
How would i solve this and then graph it?
