Question 143222: Hi, I solved this system of linear equations, but cannot find the x and y intercepts to graph the system. Any help would be appreciated. This is what I have so far.
x/3 - y/5 = 4 and 3x/4 + 2y/3 = 6
15(x/3 – y/5) = 4 and 12(3x/4 + 2y/3) = 6
5(x) – 3(y) = 60 and 3(3x) + 4(2y) = 72
5x – 3y = 60 and 9x + 8y = 72
45x – 27y = 540
- 67y = 180
y = -2.69
3x/4 + 2y/3 = 6
3x/4 + 2(-2.69)/3 = 6
3x/4 + -5.38/3 = 6
3(3x) + 4(-5.38) = 72
9x – 21.52 = 72
9x – 21.52 + 21.52 = 72 + 21.52
9x = 93.52
x = 10.39
This also checks out when I check x & y. Any help with finding the intercepts to graph would be appreciated. Thanks.
