Question 173829: Graph the line with slope -2/3 passong through the point (-5,5). I cannot do this problem. I have tried and when it comes to math I can't add 3 + 3. The negatives are the worst along with fractions. I just don't understand it.Can anybody figure this out and show me how? Ty in advance. Judy

Question 166772: The center of a circle is on the line x + 2y = 4 The circle passes through points A (6,9) and B (12,-9) Write the equation of the circle.
sq. root ((9-(-x/2+2)^2 + (6-x)^2 ) - sq. root ((-9-(-x/2+2)^2 + (12-x)^2) = 0
x=100, y=-48 But these numbers don't check
Thanks in advance,
Mark

Question 175228: Where do I look to get info about x-intercepts and y-intercepts of f?
Here is the question I am having problem on
Find the x-and y-intercepts of f.
f(x)=(x-1)(x-8)(x+1)^2
also.....
Inverse.
If the following defines a one to one function, find the inverse.

Question 175580: Okay I have gone over a few examples a couple of times for the following problems and I just don't understand what I am to do.
Complete the table of values for
Problem 1
y=1/3x+2
x | | (x,y)
0 | |
3 | |
6 | |
Problem 2
Using th equation 6x-3y=12
solve for y, identify the slope, and identify the y intercept
Problem 3
I have the points
of (4,6) and (8,18)
How am I suppose to calculate the slopem write the point-slope form of the line through the two points, and then write the equation in a slope-intercept form?
Problem 4
How am I to determine whether the point (0,1),(3,7)and (1,1),(2,3) are parallel?

Question 179578: Homework Question:
Find the area of the triangle enclosed by the lines,
1 . y=2/3x -7/3
2. y =-1/2x+3/2
3. y=-6x-5
Find the points of intersection and then map on a graph.
I started out by finding the x and y coordinates of each line to plot on the graph. The triangle I get is so small that I know I need to find the points of intersection but I am not sure how. Then I guess find the side length I think and lastly the area but unsure of what path to take. I am a middle grade teacher working towards my endorsement and taking class. This was the homework the teacher gave. He made it up, it did not come from a text.
I would appreciate any help you can give.
Thanks!!!

1) find an equation of the line point slope form that passes through (4,3) and is parallel to the line 3x-y=7
2) what is the equation in standard form of the line through (4,1) an (-2,3)?
3) find the equation of the line with x-intercept 5 and y-intercept 8
it would be great if someone could help me with these! :)
