Question 983317: Given 2 points (4,9) and (-5,-4) how do I find what point on the x axis will form a perpendicular line from (4,9) and (-5,-4) I found the midpoint and can figure it out probably by graphing, but I'm not sure how to do it with an equation. Please help.
Answer by josgarithmetic(39838) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
You can pick ANY coordinate between -5 and +4. You are looking for any vertical line with x value between -5 and +4. Your description suggests you want the line to be perpendicular to the x axis. It is not described any more clearly than that. You can choose the midpoint if you want. for any .
