is the same as which is in the form

here we see that
a = -3
h = 2
k = 6

The vertex is (h,k) = (2,6) which is in quadrant 1

You can read the coordinates of the vertex directly from your vertex form equation. Determine the quadrant by examining the signs on your vertex coordiantes:
