Question 9431: i only have one qustion why in algebra you have to use variables they are letters that take the place of numbers. how can i get my algebra credit or be proficent in algebra
Answer by askmemath(368)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
Your question itself has the answer!! "variables" that is the important term.Without an alphabet the equation wouldnt be a variable.Without it being a variable we wouldnt know how to solve it!!
For e.g. 5 times 5 = 25 but if i say 5 times "a" = 34544345 then what is the value of "a"?? Without making "a" a variable you wouldnt be able to solve the problem as you would have to assign a valuse instead and that amy or may not be the correct answer.
You can only become proficient in Algebra by practising differnt types of problems .If you need any help, you can always ask your teacher, ask your tutor or ask me.
