Question 92616: In the xy-coordinate place, the distance between point B(10,18) and point A(x,3) is 17. What is one possible value of x?
Answer by checkley75(3666)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
17*17=289 FOR THE SQUARE OF THE HYPOTENUSE
(18-3)=15*15=225 IS THE SQUARE OF THE Y SIDE
THE SQUARE ROOT OF 64=8.
THUS THE MISSING SIDE IS LENGTH OF 8 OR (10-2)=8
THUS THE MISSING X COORDINATE IS 2 OR:
(2,3)(10,18)
