the slope of this line (and segment) is (14-5)/(10-4) or 9/6 or 3/2

this means that a 3 unit change in y corresponds with a 2 unit change in x

there is a 9 unit difference in the y coordinates ... three equal parts means 3 units each

so start at one end and add 3 to the y coordinate and 2 to the x coordinate ... (4,5)(6,8)(8,11)(10,14)
