You can put this solution on YOUR website!
8x-11y=5 [solve for the y-term]
8x-8x-11y=-8x+5
-11y=-8x+5
-11y/-11=-8x/-11+5/-11
y=(8/11)x-5/11

You can put this solution on YOUR website!

Change the equation to a slope-intercept form:
8x-11y=5

Just solve the equation for y and end up with the form:

          y = mx + b

   8x - 11y = 5

       -11y = -8x + 5

divide through every term by -11

    %28%28-11%29%2F%28-11%29%29y = %28%28-8%29%2F%28-11%29%29x + 5%2F%28-11%29

          y = 8%2F11x - 5%2F11

Now compare that to

          y = mx + b

and you see that the slope m = 8%2F11

and the y-intercept is the point (0,b) or, (0,-5%2F11)
