Y=5X-2 THIS LINE HAS A SLOPE OF 5 SO THE LINE WE WANT WHICH IOS PARALLEL TO THIS LINE ALSO HAS A SLOPE OF 5 NOW SUBSTITUTE (5,0) FOR X & Y & SOLVE FOR THE Y INTERCEPT(b)
0=5*5+b
0=25+b
b=-25 SO WE HAVE THE EQUATION
Y=5X+25
(graph 300x200 pixels, x from -6 to 5, y from -10 to 25, of TWO functions y = 5x +2 and y = 5x +25).
