Question 786164: I have been given the following question: Find (x,y) assuming that A(3,2), B(6,3), C(x,y), and D(6,5) are the vertices of a parallelogram. I don't even need the answer, I would just love to know how exactly do I solve this? You must use the distance formula somehow? I know AB is parallel to CD and I have to use the distance formula.

Looking at B(6,3) and D(6,5), I have the same
for each, but a different . That makes it a vertical
line and the length is just the difference in the
values, so length =
------------------------------
To be a parallelogram, AC must also be a vertical line
of length = . I know so far that I have
A(3,2) and C(3,y) .
-----------------
It looks to me like and
would both work, So,
C(3,4) and C(3,0) would both make the length of
line AC = .
-----------------
Hope I got it
