Question 72711: Thanks for you assistance in the past. I need some help with the below equation.
Find the solutions to the equation: x - 5/x = 4
Answer by stanbon(75887) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
x - 5/x = 4
Assuming x is not zero, multiply both sides of the equation by "x" to get:
x^2 - 5 = 4x
x^2-4x-5=0
(x-5)(x+1)=0
x=5 or x=-1
