so if x=0, then it could be anywhere on the y-axis.
if y=0, it could be anywhere on the x-axis.
if x and y=0, then it would be on the origin.
So how am I supposed to phrase that, in particular?
xy=-1 works the same way. one has to be 1, the other -1.
Also: theoretically, if x<0, it could be in either quadrants 2 and 3. should i include "negative x-axis"? Answer by Edwin McCravy(20055) (Show Source):

to the combined graphs of x = 0 and y = 0. These are the two axes.
So the graph is all the points on the x or y-axes.
