(x,y)
x axis is left to right, left of 0 is negative right of 0 is possitive
y axis is down to up, down from 0 is negative, up from 0 is possitive
draw a graph with 5 ticks in all directions from 0 and plot your points
(-1,4) means left 1 up 4
(1,2) means right 1 up 2
(5,-2) means right 5 down 2
(-1,-2) means left 1 down 2
(3,0) means right 3
(0,-5) means down 5
starting point is always at 0
