The slope of both is 3 (the number before the x) so they are parallel.

When the equation of a line is in the form y=mx+b, the slope of the line is the coefficient of x, which is m. In your problem, the coefficient of x for both lines is 3, so the slope is 3 for both lines.
If the slopes of two lines is the SAME, then the lines are PARALLEL.
