Question 553428: what is the answer to 5(1.2x+3y-5.5)and how do u work it
Answer by Theo(13342) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
this looks like a distributive type of problem.
with the distributive property of algebraic operations, you get:
a(b + c + d) = ab + ac + ad
in your problem:
a = 5
b = 1.2x
c = 3y
d = -5.5
you get:
5(1.2x + 3y - 5.5) becomes:
5(1.2x) + 5(3y) - 5(5.5) which becomes:
6x + 15y - 27.5
