We use the coordinate system in maps. If you have an atlas, look at it and you'll know what I'm talking about.
They use a kind of coordinate system in seating in big auditoriums for concerts and things with numbered seats like planes (section AA, row g, seat 13).
Planes and ships use coordinate systems to find out where they are and to tell others where they are.
