Well if you were going to graph then we must turn this into y=mx+b form. So first subtract x from both sides to get 2y=8-x. Now divide each side by 2 to get y=4-1/2x. Now we are ready to graph. We need three points so we are going to substisute 0 into x. So if x=0 then y=4. Now if x=2 then y=3 and lastly if x=-2 then y=5. So to graph your ordered pairs would be (0,4),(2,3) and (-2,5). Hope this helps!!

Always solve for y first; if there is no y, solve for x. So, we first subtract x from both sides: , which simplifies to . Now divide both sides by 2: , which simplifies to .
Because any two points define a straight line, we need to get two ordered pairs in order to plot and draw the line. Using produces , so our first ordered pair is (0,4). Now let's use to produce , which simplifies to , or . Our second ordered pair is now (8,0). We plot those two points, and then draw a line between them.
