Question 470187: I'm being asked to find the x and y-intercepts of various equations. One that has me stumped in y=2x-6. I know that -6 is the y-intercept, but in an equation like this, how do I find the x-intercept?
Answer by jim_thompson5910(35256) (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
To find the x-intercept, plug in y=0 and solve for x.
y=2x-6
0=2x-6
6=2x
6/2=x
3=x
x=3
So the x-intercept is the point (3,0)
