Question 433965: Can someone please help me with this problem.
Graph the solution of the system of linear inequalities.

Answer by Gogonati(855)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
First we graph the lines: a) y=-3x+1, that passes through the points (0, 1) and (1/3, 0); b)y=x-2, that passes through the points (0, -2) and (2, 0)
The simplest way to show which one from the two half-planes is the solution set for the inequality is to select a test point ,such as (0, 0).
The test point satisfy the first inequality, thus this half-plane that contain the point (0,0) is the solution set.
The point (0,0) does not satisfy the second inequality, thus the solution set of the inequality is the half-plane, which does not contain the point (0,0).
The half-planes that represent the solution set are shaded in figure.
The dashed lines indicate that points on the lines are not included in the solution set.
