Question 432100: y= x + 12 8x + 14y = 144 i have a multiple choice question and i cant figure out witch one is right because none of the answers match up (6,4,9,8)
Answer by Alan3354(69443)   (Show Source): You can put this solution on YOUR website!
y= x + 12
8x + 14y = 144
--------
Sub for y into the 2nd eqn
8x + 14(x+12) = 144
8x + 14x + 168 = 144
22x = -24
x = -12/11
-----------
y = -12/11 + 12
y = 120/11
